An approximate programme, subject to the guest of honour's mood.
Guests are greeted by the guest of honour and his very proud parents.
A seasonal spread for the grown-ups, with a seat of honour for the birthday boy.
Ren will approach his first cake however he sees fit. Front-row guests, consider yourselves warned.
Hugs, waves and goodbyes, with the guest of honour's sincere thanks for coming.
Correspondence
Dear friends,
It has been a very big year. I have learned a great many things, mostly how to make people laugh, and I have met most of you, usually from somebody's arms.
On the nineteenth I will be turning one, and I would be delighted if you would come and celebrate with me. I cannot promise I will remember it. My parents assure me that you will.

Space near the house is tight. Coming together in one car helps everyone find a spot, and gives you someone to compare notes with on the drive home.
Attire
Something merry and bright. It's December in Bellingham, so bring a warm coat for the walk in.

An official summons from the guest of honour.
After careful consideration (and a great deal of babbling), Ren has formally requested the company of his cousins for an overnight celebration. Pajamas are mandatory. Sleep is not guaranteed.

For those with the stamina to stay up after cake. Ren will be impressed.
